Kamiya Jani has carved a special place in the hearts of travel and food lovers across India. She was honoured as the Best Food Influencer of the Year by Exhibit Magazine and received the Best Travel Creator award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2024 for her incredible work with Curly Tales.
But her journey wasn’t always easy. When she launched Curly Tales, Kamiya was already a mother to her three-year-old daughter, Zaina. While many women put their dreams on hold after becoming moms, Kamiya did the opposite. She used her maternity leave to chase her passion for travel. “My pregnancy was tough both physically and emotionally,” she shares, “but it made me realize that I couldn’t just stay home. I needed to explore.”

Taking a bold step, she went on a sabbatical and made a life-changing decision—to follow her heart. “If not now, then when?” became her guiding thought. While balancing motherhood and her career as an anchor, she gave birth to something truly special—Curly Tales, a platform to share her travel stories with the world.
Instead of travelling solo just for leisure, Kamiya chose to document her journeys through engaging and inspiring videos. In 2017, she quit her full-time anchor job with a business news channel and turned her personal blog, Curly Tales, into a full-fledged content platform.

From a young age, Kamiya had a deep desire to explore the world. By the age of 18, she had already visited many parts of India on a limited budget. After working for over a decade with top channels like ET NOW, Bloomberg TV, and CNBC TV18, she finally decided it was time to follow her true calling—travelling.
During the Covid lockdown, when everyone was stuck at home, Kamiya came up with a brilliant idea—armchair travel. Through her videos, people could experience new places without leaving their homes. “We brought the world to living rooms,” she smiles.
